The Bathrooms in my apartment are really really standard. They’re just bathrooms. Nothing especially. Totally plain. Practical. And dull dull dull.
I actually love Bathroom decor. I’m not sure why but I actually find it easier than Bedroom decor I think. I don’t know why, maybe it’s the structure, you’ve basically got walls and floors to deal with and not a huge amount of space for random accessories. You need things with purpose in your Bathroom, not clutter.
So as you can imagine, I’m pretty excited I have neutral spaces to play with. Yay!
These are some of the themes and styles I just adore at the moment and are popping up everywhere on my Pinterest boards!
I love the wooden features and accessories in this bathroom, and that cheese plant makes it I think! I definitely need me one of them!
This black bathroom is something else. I adore it. I think people assume you always need a white bright space in a bathroom, but the black actually makes the space look larger than it is by adding depth to the walls. I think it’s really striking and would love to try and use black in one of my bathroom re-designs.
My bedroom and ensuite bathroom is in the attic so all of my ceilings are slanted (constantly on head banging watch). That means in my bathroom there’s currently a stand up shower cubicle right in the middle of the room as that’s the tallest part of the space. I can see why they’ve done it, but it’s not a very good use of the space as it means the corners either side are wasted. I love the idea above with the corner shower, I think it’s a brilliant way to make the slanted ceiling a feature rather than a inconvenience.
I would also love to have a free standing bath tub in my ensuite, it’s big enough, but again the ceiling could be an issue. The photo above uses the corner space so so well by putting the taps at the lowest point – no-one likes to sit with their back against the tabs anyway, so this is a perfect use of a low ceiling and attic space.
These are just some initial ideas of how I could change up the neutral bathrooms I’ve currently got – I’m super inspired by this project and I can’t wait to get started!
