I was tagged by the lovely Jess from Half Girl Half Teacup to share my 7 Deadly Sins Make Up Tag!
Naturally I’m rebellious and I’ve amended the tag a bit to basically go through the 7 things I’m guilty of or terrible at doing. If we’re assigning ‘sins’, let’s be honest, they’re mostly sloth and/or the opposite of envy i.e. disdain.
I’m terrible at this. I just forget, or remember and then put off, or remember and then ignore. Brush cleaning is a chore and I just am not one of those people who religiously manages to clean their brushes. Maybe buying more brushes is the solution to ensure I have spare ones… I mean, anything to justify a purchase in my books.
2. Buying endless eyeshadows I never use
I buy eyeshadow singles all the time. I buy palates that I adore in the shops or online. Do I wear eyeshadow? Hardly ever. I need to learn to control the impulse buy.
3. Re-wearing lipsticks that dry my lips out for days simply for the colour
I find lipsticks can dry out my lips really fast. Not all of them, but some of them. They just also happen to be my favourite colours. So each time I go to apply them I think ‘don’t do this Jess’, and I do and then I moan and spend the next day madly moisturising. Some might call it self-harm.
4. Being a slightly lazy eyebrow plucker
Girls, you get me on this.
5. Judging a cat eye
You know, those ones that slightly droop down and make the wearer look like a droopy-eyed Cleopatra… not so hot. I’m a basic b*tch.
6. Going to a cheaper place to get a beauty treatment and then regretting it
Catchy title this one. Yep, I went to some dodgy black alley way behind a strip club to get eyelash extensions. KIDDING. It was just some woman’s house, but it was cheap and my eyelashes paid the price. DON’T DO IT.
7. Occasionally skipping a full night-time routine because my pillow is everything I need in the world
I am normally quite good at my night-time routine. I ALWAYS take my make up off. Even when slightly tipsy (read: blind drunk), but the whole washing, toning, balming, moisturising thing? I sometimes just skip straight to moisturiser. I actually stand there looking at myself in the mirror thinking ‘how many times can I skip this to the point where it makes a difference to my wrinkles in 30 years time…’ in 30 years time I imagine the answer will be ‘never Jess’, but we’ll see. I’m a risk taker.
There you have it – judge away!
Now I’m sure I’m not alone in this girls, what are your 7 Deadly Sins?
