Travel Diary: Hope Cove, Devon

Do you ever just get that warm fuzzy feeling when you think about how much you love your country or where you’re from? I know I do. I adore our little island and I think I’m so fortunate and lucky to live in such a diverse and beautiful place.

A couple of weekends ago I headed to Hope Cove in Devon for a long weekend with my family and it just reminded me how beautiful England is!

Hope Cove is a gorgeous little cove tucked away in South Devon, it’s quiet and picturesque and we spent the weekend in a beautiful peach coloured house just 1 minute walk from the beach.

We played loads of board games, went hiking along the cliff tops, walked along the beach, played around with the light while the sunset and had lots of drink and catch ups. It was a wonderful weekend.

I also had the most incredible Chocolate Sorbet of my life! IMG_0810 IMG_0811 IMG_0831

The light on the beach was just incredible…

I made a video of our time there – these videos are mostly for me to be able to look back on kind of as a journal when I’m old and grey, but it’s just so pretty I wanted to share it on my YouTube Channel as well, hopefully to inspire some of you to stay local and explore England this Summer!

Have you been to Devon before? If so, where did you stay?

Hi Jess. As you know Martin and I are big fans of holidaying in this beautiful land we are lucky enough to call home. We love Devon and have visited lots of places, including hope Cove, when we stayed in Salcombe, which is also lovely, as was Bigbury on Sea. At the moment we are trying out the Suffolk coast which is completely new to us, completely different to anywhere else we’ve been, but yet again, beautiful. We have another brand new area on the agenda for later in the year when we are off to The New Forest. I am sure you will get to see what I think on Lifeofpottering, which is still going strong and totally inspired by your old Iamjessw blog, so big thank you for that.

Oh thank you Carol! I’m a big fan of lifeofpottering and catch up on all your travels on there! You’re so right, I think there are so many beautiful places in the UK that may not make the list as people are always heading abroad. I’ve been to the New Forest once before and it was gorgeous, so I hope you enjoy!! Keep blogging you’re a pro now! Xxx
