Getting Inspired in the Kitchen

This Christmas I was lucky enough to get some pretty amazing new vegan cookbooks that are just full of the most delicious sounding and looking dishes, and I wanted to share these with you guys in case you would like some new inspiration for delicious plant based meals!

Thug Life

Eat like you give a f*ck. Now this is my kind of cookbook. There’s tacos. There’s swearing. There’s french fries. This is dirty food that everyone craves, but done in the right way. Sometimes (all the time) you want to recreate fast-food that’s delicious, dirty and vegan and this book does exactly that.

The Uncook Cookbook

In total contrast to Thug Life, this book is 100% raw recipes. If you’re not familiar with the Raw movement, I suggest you check out it out – but the basic premise is that raw food is packed full of nutrients and vitamins that aren’t broken down during cooking. It’s a pretty extreme form of living, but I believe in everything in moderation and that includes looking after your body in the best way possible. I need to incorporate more raw food into my diet in 2017 and this book is PACKED full of glorious recipes to help liven things up.

Eat Smart

If you’re from the blog world this book will be no surprise to you. Niomi Smart is a YouTube goddess turned cookbook author and she’s published a beautiful book full of her own plant based recipes. There’s loads of tasty and super healthy recipes in this book, both cooked and raw, that are guaranteed to help you fall in love with vegan food.

Deliciously Ella – Smoothies & Juices

I’d say smoothies and juices are a core part of my diet now I’m vegan. Not only are they delicious, but they’re a great way to pack in as many veggies as possible into your diet. It can take a lot of effort to actually chew a bag of spinach for example, whereas if you whizz it up with some fruit and water you’ve got a delicious smoothie packed full of iron and vitamins, which is a brilliant way to get in your greens!

I’m so excited to get using these books now we’re into January and I’m feeling so inspired and motivated to be in the kitchen and get cooking amazing vegan food.

I also just wanted to let you guys know that I’m thinking about creating an e-book of easy vegan recipes that I go to all the time that would be downloadable from my blog. In March I’m going to hit my 1 year anniversary since I transitioned to Vegan (best year ever, but that’s a whole other post!) and I feel that I’ve learnt so much along the way, it could really help any aspiring Vegans or even people who just want to incorporate more vegan meals into their meal routines. What do you guys think? I would love your feedback and ideas!
