Moisturisers are a very personal subject matter. It’s likely that you and every other female in your circle would name a different moisturiser as their holy grail product, and that’s what makes the beauty industry such an exciting field to work (or dabble in).

Now I’ve tried my fair share of moisturisers. Some I’ve adored, others I’ve discarded after just a few uses, and several have been left in my beauty cupboard until they’re totally dried up and make their way to the bathroom bin.

It’s safe to say I’ve tried a good number of moisturisers (although not as many as some), and so today I wanted to share my experience using a moisturiser I would class as the best I’ve ever used. Quite a claim I know.

The Lush Million Dollar Moisturiser is my everyday go-to moisturiser and has been for the last 7 months. For me, nothing has come close to rivaling it’s brilliance in the last 7 months and if that’s not worth sharing, I don’t know what is.

The interesting part of my love story with this little pot of magic is that at first and the first week I used it, I didn’t like it and was ready to give it all up. I thank the moisturiser Gods that they steered me back on track.

First up, let’s talk about what it does to my skin. I wear this moisturisers throughout the day, and at the moment most nights as well. It is extremely hydrating and nourishing and my skin really does feel protected. My skin is softer than it has ever been, and any sign of a blemish is gone the next day when I use this stuff. I’ve had enough blemishes/spots/breakouts in my life to know when a product really works wonders on a problem area and this isn’t just some mindless sales pitch. If I see a spot emerging, I make sure I’ve got a good dose of this on overnight and the next day it will be retreating without ever having really presenting itself in the first place. I really do swear by this product and my skin has never felt in such good condition.

Secondly let’s talk texture. The texture of this product is thick, creamy and luxurious. It applies beautifully and really feels like a protective layer being added. I would say it tends to stay slightly tacky to the touch for a good few hours after application – not visibly so, just so that if you were to touch your face you’d be aware of the product. It is so hydrating but as someone who tends to struggle with the odd attack of oily skin, this product doesn’t leave me shiny, despite how thick and hydrating it appears to be. It naturally has SPF30 built in, which is just a dream when it comes to moisturiser. It’s so important to protect your face every day from the sun, even if it’s cloudy and there’s not a ray to be seen. The fact that I don’t have to worry about sunscreen protection when I’m using this is a massive bonus.

IMG_5049The third and final reason I love this moisturiser and will preach about it all day and night is the unbelievable smell. It smells like a million dollars. I’m not even sorry about punning the hell out of it. It’s a heady mix of cocoa, shea butter and honey and it really is heavenly. It really does have a signature scent that I for one fell in love with immediately.

I haven’t tried any other of Lush’s moisturisers so I don’t know how they compare, but if Million Dollar is anything to go by, they know their stuff when it comes to skincare.

If you’re interested in trying this moisturiser, just visit your local Lush and ask for a sample – I absolutely love that the company is so open to samples and it means you can try the product for a few days before investing.

This moisturiser is on the pricer side, costing £32.50 for 45g of the stuff. However one pot roughly lasts me 5 months, and when it comes to skincare I think it’s worth paying the price.

Have you used Million Dollar or any other Lush moisturisers before? What should I try next?

It’s all about the perfect pink lipstick. We may move through cycles during the year from a bright lip in the Summer months through to darker plum tones in the Autumn, but a constant is the pink lip. It’s classic, feminine, understated and sophisticated.

My favourite pink lipstick of the moment is the Soap & Glory Super Mother Pucker Matte Lipstick.  It’s the perfect mauve pink tone, and just the right combination of gloss meets matte.

IMG_5499It is exactly what I’m looking for in a pink lipstick. It’s a warm pink with lilac undertones and provides a beautiful dusky, natural colour. I’m still tanned from my Winter Sun break at the moment and I think it compliments my colouring beautifully.

The formula is also exactly what I want from a matte lipstick, smooth and moisturising rather than drying and waxy.

I have sensitive lips that always seem to dry out in record time, especially when I’m wearing a matte lip product, but the formula of the Soap & Glory lipstick is creamy and nourishing and I haven’t had any problems with dried out lips.

IMG_5533IMG_5501IMG_5502Like any beauty product you’re spending money on, the packaging and look and feel of the product is really important and I think Soap & Glory have done a brilliant job with transforming this drugstore product into a luxurious product with sleek packaging that could rival some high end brands.

IMG_5522IMG_5524I’d definitely classed this as a ‘your lips but better’ tone and I think it is a really versatile shade. The range of colours available was also really impressive and I could see myself wearing each and every one of the shades available which is something I’ve never achieved before with brand. I’m excited keep using this and expand my collection of Soap & Glory products.

What is your go-to pink?

I’m always on the hunt for the perfect cleanser, whether it’s a liquid, oil, gel or paste. Whatever makes my skin clean, glowy and blemish free, that’s good for me and I’m always up for trying new ones.

Recently started using the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm because I couldn’t ignore the hype any longer and I can completely see why everyone raves about it. I have fallen head over heels for it.

It smells incredible. The scent is just so relaxing, I absolutely love using this before bed to de-stress and relax. The texture is a thick paste/balm and as you massage it into your face it melts into an oil. It’s rich and luxurious and really feels like the type of product that would be used when having a facial. I love the feel of the product on my skin and I feel so pampered afterwards just by taking that extra bit of time on my skincare routine.

After a few minutes I then wipe off the oil with a warm face cloth. This really feels like you’re getting all the make-up and dirt off of your face before moistening and my face is absolutely loving it.

I’ve had no blemishes or breakouts using it and my skin feels super soft when I wake up in the morning.

I make sure to moisturize with my absolute favourite Million Dollar Moisturiser from Lush (read about it here). In terms of price it’s a bit pricier than I’d normally pay, this 100g pot was around £25, but I’d definitely say it’s worth it.

If you’re in the market for a new cleanser or luxurious face product I’d say this is definitely lives up to the hype.

Have you used a face balm before?

Happy New Year Everyone!

Doesn’t everyone love a good list? I know I do. Today I wanted to share a few of my New Years Resolutions for my blog, mostly to keep me on the straight and narrow over the next year and to provide some focus for my online content.

I launched this blog in April 2015 after taking a break from blogging (for those of you who used to read my old blog, you’re in the know, you have the inside snoop). I wanted to re-brand and re-focus my online presence. I have learnt a huge amount in the last 8 months and I’m enjoying blogging more than I ever have before.

A couple of the goals I have achieved in the last year include:

  1. Setting up a new blog
  2. Blogging about makeup & beauty products
  3. Launching a YouTube channel and starting to make videos

The last year has been a whirlwind of emotion and I’m really proud of myself that throughout all of that I’ve felt inspired and motivated enough to launch my new blog and grow my audience. I couldn’t have done it without you guys, so thank you SO much for supporting me, reading my blog, following along and sending me just the loveliest comments. I love you and there wouldn’t be a blog without you!

*Group hugs*

There’s a whole lot more I want to do in the next 12 months, and these are the Top 5 things I hope to achieve:

  1. Provide equal weighting to my blog content covering fashion, makeup, beauty, interiors and lifestyle
  2. Film a Look Book video
  3. Film a collaboration with another Blogger
  4. Attend a blogging event to meet likeminded bloggers
  5. Host a Giveaway

These are 5 relatively small goals, but I know I have more chance of completing them if I write them down and share them with the people that matter – you guys!

Feel free to hassle me for each and every one until I get done all ticked off!

I hope you all have happy, successful and inspiring years. If I’ve learnt anything this year it’s that you can change anything you want to.
